Plastic Free Summer!

Plastic Free Summer!

Sustainability is all about growth and change.

Our website has undergone significant renovations over the past couple of months to create a better customer experience. A new website means new blogs and more information on how to be more eco-conscious.

Being sustainable isn’t a trend; it’s a way of life. In 2023, sustainability isn’t just about recycling, avoiding aerosols, or biking. It involves eating plant-based diets, utilizing renewable energy sources, reducing food waste, embracing remote work, and promoting brand transparency. The world is constantly changing, and Matter intends to change with it.

Plastic is present in almost everything, from microplastics to single-use items; it's almost unavoidable.

Here’s a list of five things you didn’t know contain plastic and how to be plastic-free this summer:

1. Bandaids:
The soft cotton pad and sticky, flesh-colored parts of bandaids contain different types of plastic.
2. Teabags:
Many types of teabags contain polyethylene, which is a type of plastic that doesn’t break down.
3. Chewing gum:
Many different gum recipes contain Polyisobutylene as their base.
4. Glitter:
Not only is glitter made of plastic, but it’s also a microplastic.
5. Sunscreen:
Last but not least, some brands of sunscreen contain microplastics that end up washing off in the water.
